Singing Luna on the Rise

I had the pleasure of interviewing professional Singer, from Santa Barbara California the amazing Luna. Enjoy!

When & why did you first start singing?

I started singing in church. I’m really unsure of the age that I started singing, I might have been six. The reason why I started singing, I remember this woman she had come from another church to sing to us and I was completely just blown away by how her voice sounded and not only her voice but the feelings that she was giving me. I’m pretty sure that she was giving everybody else there. I remember just praying and begging and just asking God, “I want to be blessed with a talent like that, I want to be able to sing like her, if not at least be able to reach people with my voice and music”. I began singing around the house since I was very religious at that time, I was just singing a lot of gospel music by myself. I didn’t really want anybody else to hear me, I was always at home. One day my step-dad heard me and said that I sounded pretty good and since that compliment, I started singing at church.

Where would you most like to perform?
I haven’t really put much thought into where I would love to perform. Since I’m just starting out, I’m just seeing where the music takes me. I hope it does get to that point where music is my number one priority because I’d be extremely happy with that.
Who would you most like to open for?
I would like to open for Lauryn Hill. I’d be really excited to open up for anybody that’s been extremely successful in the music business.
If you weren’t singing, what would you be doing?
I’d probably be a police officer by now. I’ve always wanted to be catching bad people but also helping people. I know that being a cop isn’t just about giving people tickets and arresting people I think to be a police officer, you have to be active within your community.
If you could dabble in another genre of music, what would it be?
I think when I established myself in music, I would definitely want to venture out into rock because growing up I used to listen to a lot of like alternative rock metal because that genre means a lot to me.
Any final advice to your fans?
Advice? Don’t let any criticism or anything like that stop you from doing what you want to do. I’m also going to be blunt, you actually have to be serious about it. I probably wasted a lot of time just daydreaming about doing music and not really putting it into action. I feel if I would have stopped daydreaming I’d probably be where I want to be. Don’t waste any time! Start working on what you want to do. Work on your passion. Time doesn’t stop for anybody and you know in a blink of an eye, you can be 40 years old and be like f*** what the hell have I been doing?! where’d all the time go?
