Sewing Pattern Blocks

What are sewing pattern blocks?

A sloper pattern (home sewing) or block pattern (industrial production) is a custom-fitted, basic pattern from which patterns for many different styles can be developed. The process of changing the size of a finished pattern is called grading.

I have gathered a few images and analyzed which basic pattern blocks have been used in the process of constructing these pieces.

In this first garment, the basic pencil skirt block has been used.  The block was altered, and added a raised waist, and it appears to be out of a stretch fabric.

In this second garment, the basic straight leg pants block has been used.

There has been no alterations to the blocks, the basic construction for the straight leg pants was used during this process.

In this third garment, the basic bodice block has been used. There has been a few alterations to the blocks. On of the alterations is that the top part has been added a yoke. In the basic bodice block, there is YokeS

no yoke and a few darts. The darts have been taken out and made into a nice fitting top yoke.
